First EEW Parliamentary Event, Budapest - Hungary
EUFORES 8th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (IPM8) was held on 7th November 2008 in the Parliament of Hungary, in Budapest. Like the above mentioned IPM@EUSEW2008, the IPM8 also combined the topics of renewable energy and energy efficiency as they both are inevitable for a sustainable development.
More than 60 Members of the European Parliament and of National Parliaments from 19 EU Member States participated as well as high-level civil servants from the European Commission, selected representatives from industry, the NGO and media sector.
One session was solely dedicated to the EEW. Presentations were given by scientific and industry partners of the project.
The participating Parliamentarians adopted the Declaration of Budapest in which they e.g. urge Member States to implement, monitor and improve energy efficiency measures listed in their respective national Energy Efficiency Action Plans as well as work on the improvement of the second round of national Energy Efficiency Action Plans.
You can find the declaration as well as all other information and documents at EUFORES event website on the IPM8 here.
